Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Saturday that it had targeted 4 ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz under US military protection, in an operation using missiles and drones that stopped and disabled them at sea.

Meanwhile, an Iranian official revealed warnings that Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports, as well as the ports of Fujairah and Jebel Ali, could become targets for Iranian retaliation if Washington launches an attack on civilian infrastructure in Iran.

In a notable development, the International Affairs Center of Iran’s Environmental Protection Organization announced a draft of a new system to collect environmental fees from ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, based on the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). The center stated that fees would be determined according to criteria including vessel type, cargo, and environmental risks, emphasizing that “the security of the strait is Iran’s responsibility.”

Targeting ships under US protection

The IRGC Naval Force announced it had targeted 4 ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz under US military protection, stopping and disabling them completely with missiles and drones.

The navy advised ship owners not to be deceived by what it described as “American promises” and to adhere to official maritime warnings, noting that “some Gulf leaders were deceived.”

Warnings to UAE airports

An Iranian military official, speaking to Fars News Agency, warned that Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports and the ports of Fujairah and Jebel Ali could be targets if Washington attacks civilian infrastructure in Iran, calling for their immediate evacuation in the event of any US attack.

IRGC statement

An IRGC statement accused the US military of launching attacks that targeted hospitals, bridges, airports, and ports, resulting in civilian casualties.

The IRGC announced it had targeted a US troop position in Arifjan, destroyed a radar at the Ali Al Salem US base in Kuwait with a drone strike, in addition to targeting a weapons depot and a drone hangar.

The statement warned countries hosting US forces that their territories could become targets for Iranian retaliation.

Draft law to collect fees from ships

The International Affairs Center of Iran’s Environmental Protection Organization announced a draft of a new system to collect environmental fees from ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The center explained that the system is based on the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and related treaties, which regulate the principle of “peaceful passage.”

The center stated that violation of this principle gives Iran the right to take measures to protect its interests, affirming that “the security of the Strait of Hormuz is the responsibility of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and it has been and will remain so.”
