Surprise Regarding Israeli Withdrawal from Lebanon: Newspaper Reveals the Plan

A newspaper has reported, citing multiple sources within the Israeli military, that the forces stationed in southern Lebanon will remain for more than 60 days, contrary to the terms of the ceasefire agreement that ended the conflict between the Israeli military and Hezbollah.

According to the newspaper’s sources, the Israeli army will stay in Lebanon until the Lebanese army fully assumes control over the southern region.

Notably, earlier today, local Lebanese sources indicated that an Israeli infantry unit advanced along the Wadi al-Hujeir road for the first time since the July 2006 war before retreating toward Wadi al-Salouqi.
