Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Dr. Mohammad Nidal Al-Shaar, participated in the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), held in Seville, Spain, with high-level participation from world leaders, representatives of international organizations, and economic experts from around the globe.

In his address, Minister Al-Shaar outlined the key pillars of <strong>Syria’s 2035 Vision for Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development</strong>, emphasizing the country’s efforts to create a more attractive investment environment. These efforts include <strong>reforming economic legislation, stimulating productive sectors, and strengthening partnerships with both local and international private sector actors</strong>.

The minister also stressed the need for a more equitable and inclusive international financial system that takes into account the specific challenges faced by countries recovering from prolonged crises, such as Syria. He called for <strong>easier access to concessional financing and debt relief mechanisms</strong> for these countries.

On the sidelines of the conference, Dr. Al-Shaar held several bilateral meetings with representatives from international financial and development institutions. The discussions focused on <strong>potential cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and manufacturing industries</strong>.

The FfD4 conference aims to adopt a political declaration titled <strong>”The Seville Commitment”</strong>, which includes wide-ranging reforms to the global development finance framework. These reforms cover <strong>debt restructuring, international tax system reform, and investment incentives targeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)</strong>.
