Syria: Ongoing Diplomatic Efforts, SDF Adopts a Firm Stance on Ankara and Clarifies Developments in Relations with Damascus
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reiterated their rejection of Turkish forces and affiliated factions crossing the Euphrates River, stressing their commitment to blocking any attempt to alter the existing situation. They called on the international community to pressure Turkey to halt its attacks in the areas under their control, in order to preserve the establishment of a new and stable Syria.
Regarding their relationship with Damascus, SDF Commander Mazloum Abdi clarified that dialogue with the new Syrian administration continues without any disagreements, emphasizing the importance of dialogue as a main route to address political and economic challenges in this historic phase.
On another front, the U.S. State Department highlighted the importance of not allowing Syria to be used as a base that threatens the stability of neighboring countries, emphasizing that regional security requires cooperation between all concerned parties.
In a diplomatic development, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan hosted his Turkish counterpart in Riyadh to discuss the latest developments in the region and the ongoing political and security issues. Additionally, a Russian delegation arrived in Damascus for the first official Russian visit after the fall of the previous regime.
