Tens of thousands of Israelis demonstrate against Netanyahu

Tens of thousands of Israelis demonstrated in the cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions aimed at weakening the judiciary.
Israeli media said protest rallies were launched in Tel Aviv’s central Habima Square and Haifa on Saturday to protest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government plans to reform the legal system and weaken the Supreme Court, a move that critics say will destroy the country’s system of democratic checks and balances.
About 100 thousand people were expected to participate in the demonstrations against Netanyahu and his government.
It also confirmed the participation of senior opposition figures, including former Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz.
