The Security Council threatens the obstruction of Libyan elections

The United Nations Security Council announced its support for the holding of the Libyan presidential elections on schedule for the end of this year, confirming the adoption of a presidential statement waving sanctions against the obstructionists in Libya.
The Security Council urged the parties to the Libyan elections to commit themselves to accepting their results and called on them to respect political opponents before, during and after the elections.
In the statement, he said: “The Libyan parties must implement the ceasefire agreement, in particular the immediate exit of mercenaries and foreign forces.”
Today, the Libyan Electoral Commission announced the rejection of the papers of 25 candidates for the elections, including Saif al-Islam Gaddafi.
