TikTok faces a huge fine from the European Union

The European Union announced the imposition of a fine amounting to about 345 million euros on the social networking site “Tik Tok” due to violations of the European General Regulations for the Protection of Data Related to Minors.
According to what the Irish Data Protection Commission said on behalf of the European Union, the company operating the site will have to pay the imposed administrative fine and subject its operations to the laws of the European system within three months.
The details of the violations that took place between July 31 and December 31 of the year 2020 were not made clear, while investigation procedures began in September 2021 against the site owned by the Chinese company Byte Dance, which includes 150 million accounts within the United States and 134 million accounts in the European Union.
