Trump: Iran and Israel Violated Ceasefire; “I’m Not Pleased with Tel Aviv”
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that both Israel and Iran have violated the ongoing ceasefire agreement in the region, expressing dissatisfaction with the actions of both parties—particularly the recent escalation by Israel.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday evening, Trump asserted that Iran’s nuclear capabilities had been dismantled and that Tehran would never be able to rebuild its nuclear program, according to his remarks.
“I’m not pleased with Iran, but I’m really not pleased with Israel,” the president said. “They carried out today’s operation and must now remain calm.”
In a direct message to the Israeli government, Trump stated: “To Israel, I say: do not drop those bombs. If you do, that’s a serious violation. Bring your pilots home now.”
He affirmed that conditions in the Middle East are improving and emphasized that the ceasefire remains in effect, assuring that no one would be harmed.
In a related development, the news outlet Axios quoted sources within the White House as saying that President Trump expressed anger during a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The sources indicated that Trump used a firm and direct tone, urging Netanyahu to exercise restraint to prevent the collapse of the ceasefire agreement.
According to the same sources, Trump outlined specific steps to de-escalate tensions, prompting Netanyahu to scale back Israel’s response to what Tel Aviv described as Iranian violations.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that the air force had carried out a strike targeting radar systems near Tehran. However, the Israeli government refrained from launching further attacks following the phone call with Trump. The statement added that the U.S. president expressed strong appreciation for Israel’s achievement of its military objectives.
