U.S. Position on the War in Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday that Washington will not send any troops to take part in the war in Ukraine against Russia, stressing that America’s role will remain political and diplomatic.

Ukraine’s Future Between NATO and Crimea

In an interview with Fox News, Trump said Ukraine’s hopes of joining NATO or regaining Crimea from Russia are “impossible.” He added: “You have my guarantee, I am the president”, reaffirming his opposition to direct U.S. military involvement.

Prospects for a Peace Agreement

Despite his firm stance, Trump expressed optimism about reaching a deal to end the war in Ukraine, but noted that Kyiv may need to abandon certain demands to achieve peace, particularly its claim over Crimea and NATO membership.

Russia’s Conditions for Ending the War

Meanwhile, Moscow insists that any peace agreement must include the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Donetsk and Luhansk, along with official recognition of Crimea as Russian territory.
