Starmer again: War on Iran “is not Britain’s war”
Starmer: War on Iran “is not Britain’s war” and we will not allow ourselves to be dragged into it..
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the U.S. military operation against Iran “is not Britain’s war,” affirming that London will not allow itself to be dragged into the conflict.
Starmer added in remarks carried by Sky News that Britain will continue to protect its citizens in the Middle East and will stand by its allies in the region.
Starmer had earlier emphasized that his government has applied these principles in its decisions “no matter the pressure or where it comes from,” pointing to serious disagreements with U.S. President Donald Trump over the conflict in the Middle East.

The British Prime Minister affirmed that London does not intend to enter into direct military conflict with Iran, indicating his country’s firm stance against direct participation in military operations against Tehran.
Starmer had previously rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s call to send ships to the Strait of Hormuz to ensure navigation security, rejecting the idea of dragging Britain into the war.
