Will it be the last World Cup for De Bruyne?

Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne said that the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scheduled in Qatar between November 20 and December 18, may be the last in his career, stressing that he looks forward to seeing his children compete at the highest level.

The Belgium international is still feeling at ease ahead of the World Cup, and scored for Manchester City the 1-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday, in the English Premier League.

The De Bruyne family will travel to Qatar to attend the World Cup, where Belgium will compete in Group F with Canada, Morocco and Croatia.

De Bruyne, 31, participated with the Belgian national team in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, during which the team achieved third place, and also participated in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, when Belgium reached the quarter-finals, but he realizes that the next edition may be the last for him.

Where and De Bruyne: My family is going to the group stage competitions. Of course I’m 31, and I don’t know what’s going to happen in four years. This is the first time that my children will be able to attend the World Cup.

He also added in the statements published by the British news agency “PA Media”: This is the reason for their coming. It’s going to be a special event, and I don’t want to miss them. They are six, four and two years old. The two older kids are watching football to some extent, but the little girl isn’t doing that yet, but she can go and enjoy the sun and play in the pool.

De Bruyne added: “I’m excited. This will be my third participation, and participation is always special. These events are huge because they are followed by everyone.
