A struggle over mines kills dozens

About 100 people were killed and dozens injured in violent clashes that broke out today between gold miners in Chad.
The clashes began a few days ago and deteriorated today to expand significantly on the Libyan borders, with about 100 dead and at least 40 wounded.
Media reported that the clashes erupted in the Tibesti Mountains, a rugged and lawless region in the middle of the desert, 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) from the capital, N’Djamena.
