After 27 Years Away, Asala Makes Her Return to Beirut with a Performance Blending Music and Elegance
In a long-anticipated artistic comeback, Syrian singer Asala Nasri performed a notable concert at the Forum de Beyrouth in Lebanon, marking her first appearance in the city in 27 years. The event drew a large audience and generated considerable public attention, with the artist describing the evening as “historic.” The performance brought together elements of music, style, and personal reflection.

During the concert, Nasri presented a selection of her most prominent songs that have shaped her musical career, including “Yesmaholi El Kel,” “Aktar,” “Bint Akaber,” and “Shokran.” She also paid tribute to the late musician Ziad Rahbani by performing his song “Ana Elli Alaiki Moshtaq” and honored the memory of Syrian artist Fahd Ballan with her rendition of his well-known track “Wa Ashrah Laha.”
Asala’s appearance featured a custom-designed gown by internationally renowned Lebanese designer Krikor Jabotian. The floor-length dress was in a deep indigo shade, inspired by traditional Arab caftan designs, with wide sleeves and a draped silhouette. A metallic gold corset adorned with multicolored stones added a regal and bold element to the ensemble. The look was complemented by fine jewelry from designer Christian Bonja.
Her hairstyle, created by stylist Vatche Nazareth, included an elevated updo with a braided crown and a crystal-embellished accessory. The makeup, designed with a warm and classic Eastern aesthetic, featured smoky eyes, soft pink-beige lipstick, and bronzed blush—blending simplicity with sophistication.
Taking the stage with a commanding presence, Asala Nasri delivered a performance that many viewed as both a professional statement and a personal homage. Through her social media platforms, she expressed joy at returning to Beirut, noting the city’s significant role in her artistic journey. She also emphasized that for her, fashion is a parallel language to music—conveying messages of hope, strength, and continuity.
