Alternative for Germany party calls for withdrawal of 38,000 US troops from the country

Tino Chrupalla, co-leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, called for the withdrawal of US troops from the country during a party branch conference in Saxony, as reported by Bild newspaper.

Chrupalla stressed that Germany must no longer allow itself to be drawn into international conflicts, calling for a more independent role for the country. He cited Spain as an example, which prevented the United States from using its military bases in operations against Iran.

The party’s platform supports the withdrawal of all allied forces stationed on German territory, particularly their nuclear weapons. Currently, about 38,000 US troops are stationed in Germany.
