Beware of Vitamin Deficiency After Winter… Ignoring It Weakens Your Immunity!

Nutrition expert Dr. Yelena Solomatina warned about the negative effects of winter on human health, pointing out that this season not only drains a significant amount of energy but also depletes many essential nutrients from the body. To compensate for these nutrients…

Dr. Solomatina explained that restoring the body’s health after the cold months requires adhering to a set of factors, including sufficient exposure to sunlight, drinking enough water, following a balanced diet, and getting adequate sleep. She emphasized that the integration of these factors plays a crucial role in replenishing the vitamins lost by the body and boosting immunity.

Regarding the common nutritional deficiencies after winter, Dr. Solomatina mentioned that Vitamin D is one of the most significantly reduced elements, which can be replaced by consuming fish, eggs, and dairy products. She also highlighted the importance of Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, as well as iodine and selenium, which can be replenished by consuming fatty marine fish, seaweed, and Brazilian nuts.

To compensate for calcium deficiency, she recommended consuming sesame seeds, which not only provide high levels of calcium but also contain “inositol,” a substance that helps calm nerves and reduce stress.

Additionally, turkey meat was one of the prominent foods in Dr. Solomatina’s recommendations, as it is a rich source of vitamins and antioxidants, containing iron, B vitamins, and zinc. She also advised consuming fermented cabbage, but only if prepared through natural fermentation, to reap its full health benefits.
