Breaking | Airstrikes Expand Across Iran as Regional Airspace Closures Announced – Tehran / Tel Aviv / Baghdad
U.S. officials confirmed ongoing airstrikes on Iran as explosions were reported in multiple cities and airspace closures were imposed in Iran and Iraq.
A U.S. official told Al Jazeera that the airstrikes aim to dismantle Iran’s security apparatus, while The New York Times cited American officials confirming that military operations are underway.
Mehr News Agency reported mobile service disruptions in parts of Tehran and a temporary nationwide airspace closure, as Iran’s Civil Aviation Authority suspended flights for six hours.
Fars News Agency said explosions were reported in Qom, Isfahan, Kermanshah and Karaj, with additional blasts heard in Isfahan, Qom and Lorestan.
Iraq’s Transport Ministry announced the closure of Iraqi airspace, while Israeli hospitals began relocating departments to fortified areas, according to Israel’s public broadcaster.
