China Denies Reports of Its Participation in Ukraine Peacekeeping Mission

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied reports claiming that Chinese officials are discussing the country’s participation in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine after the conflict ends.

During a press conference, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that these reports are completely untrue. He emphasized that China remains committed to working with the international community to advance peace negotiations and create conditions for a ceasefire and an end to the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier, the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag had cited sources suggesting that China was in discussions with European Union countries regarding its possible role in a post-war peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.

The peacekeeping initiative, backed by the so-called “Coalition of the Willing,” is a joint effort by Britain and France aimed at uniting allied European governments to protect Ukraine after any potential peace agreement with Russia. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has strongly opposed the initiative.
