Egypt Urges Europe to Pressure Israel Immediately

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati met with European Council President António Costa to discuss the situation in the Palestinian territories. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the “Bled Forum” in Slovenia. Abdel Aati emphasized the importance of strengthening Egyptian-European relations in light of regional and international developments.
He highlighted the humanitarian situation in Gaza, noting the severe conditions caused by continued conflict and restricted aid access. He called for coordinated regional and international efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire and urged the international community to take responsibility in addressing the situation in Gaza and the West Bank.

Abdel Aati stressed the role of the European Union in pressing Israel to allow humanitarian aid access, halt large-scale military operations, and implement ceasefire proposals without conditions. He added that the upcoming Cairo-European Union summit will enhance cooperation and coordination in political, economic, security, and scientific fields, according to the six strategic partnership axes.
