The operator of Heathrow Airport in London has announced the closure of the largest airport in Europe due to a fire that broke out at a power substation supplying electricity to the airport.

Heathrow Airport Holdings stated that the airport is experiencing a significant power outage, prompting its closure for the entire day on Friday, March 21.

A spokesperson for the airport warned travelers not to head to the airport under any circumstances until it reopens, anticipating major disruptions in the coming days.
