Hazardous materials leak in southern Israel after Iranian strike on a plant… residents advised to stay in shelters
Israeli media reported a hazardous materials leak in the Neot Hovav area in southern Israel, following a direct hit by an Iranian strike on one of the factories. Residents and workers were instructed to remain in shelters and keep windows closed.
Channel 14 reported that fire crews are combating the leak, roads in the Ramat Hovav area have been closed, and some workers and local Bedouin residents have been evacuated. Specialized hazardous materials teams were deployed to assess the risk level and concentration of substances.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that missile fragments fell between two factories, while Channel 12 indicated that Iran targeted a “significant” plant in the Negev. The Ministry of Environmental Protection dispatched teams to verify conditions and provide assistance.
Crews have been working to contain the incident and secure the damaged tanks, with monitoring operations continuing. Factory workers and employees in nearby plants were instructed to evacuate exposed areas and shelter in reinforced buildings until the situation is fully resolved.
