Israeli incursion in Daraa and Quneitra, 226 bombs seized on Syria-Lebanon border
Israel incursion in Syria: Israeli forces advance in Daraa and Quneitra, install surveillance cameras, authorities seize 226 bombs on Lebanon border
The provinces of Daraa and Quneitra in southern Syria witnessed new Israeli military incursions on Tuesday, including the targeting of the outskirts of the village of Maariya with machine-gun fire and the installation of thermal cameras and a surveillance system near the ceasefire line, while Syrian authorities announced the seizure of 226 RGC-type bombs inside a vehicle heading to Lebanon via the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing.
Israeli incursion in western Daraa countryside
Local sources in Daraa province told RT that an Israeli military force had penetrated the western countryside of the province, with continued Israeli movement in the Yarmouk Basin, Wadi al-Raqad, and across southern Syria.
The sources said the force, consisting of two military vehicles, entered via the Tel Abu al-Ghithar crossing and headed toward the beginning of Wadi al-Raqad, positioning itself for a few minutes near a site known as “Mujham Room,” before withdrawing via the same route it had entered.
Israeli targeting of Maariya village outskirts
The sources added that Israeli forces positioned at the “Al-Jazeera Barracks” had earlier targeted the outskirts of Maariya village in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa with machine-gun fire, with no reports of casualties or injuries.
These moves come amid ongoing Israeli incursions, with the border strip area serving as a primary theater for these daily operations.
Installation of thermal cameras in Quneitra
In a related development, local sources in Quneitra province told RT that an Israeli patrol had installed thermal cameras and a surveillance and reconnaissance system on high points near the ceasefire line with Syria.
The sources indicated that the Israeli force entered the village of Al-Samadaniya Al-Gharbiya in the Quneitra countryside on Tuesday and installed the surveillance and reconnaissance system before withdrawing from the area.
Israeli checkpoint in Quneitra
On Monday, an Israeli military force penetrated the Quneitra countryside and set up a checkpoint to search passersby, coinciding with intensive Israeli drone activity in the area’s skies.
The sources told RT that the forces stopped citizens crossing the road and thoroughly searched them at the checkpoint set up near Sayda Al-Hanout, with no arrests of Syrian citizens reported.

Seizure of 226 bombs on Syria-Lebanon border
In a separate security development, the Syrian General Authority for Border Crossings and Customs announced that the Jdeidet Yabous Customs Office had seized 226 RGC-type bombs, which were expertly concealed inside hidden compartments in a vehicle heading to Lebanese territory.
The Authority said the bombs were hidden inside the vehicle in a professional manner and were uncovered during inspection procedures at the border crossing.
Regional context of weapons seizures
Syrian authorities periodically announce the seizure of weapons shipments en route to Lebanon, often stating they were destined for Hezbollah.
Days earlier, the Joint Operations Command in Iraq announced the formation of a committee of relevant authorities and experts to investigate the details of foiling a weapons and rockets smuggling operation across the border from Iraq to Syria, following the Syrian Interior Ministry’s announcement of foiling the operation and stating it was destined for Hezbollah.
Hezbollah denies allegations
In this regard, Hezbollah issued a statement last Thursday denying once again “allegations related to the party’s activity inside Syrian territory.”
Hezbollah’s media relations said in its statement: “Allegations related to Hezbollah’s activity inside Syrian territory are repeated from time to time, which the party has repeatedly and categorically denied, affirming they are completely false allegations.”
Continued security tension in southern Syria
Israeli military movements continue, with Quneitra and Daraa provinces witnessing, along with incursions, sporadic shooting incidents and scattered targeting in border areas, reflecting the continued state of security tension in the region.
US President Donald Trump had met with Syrian transitional President Ahmed al-Sharaa on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, confirming he had signed an executive order last month ending the US sanctions program on Syria, and hinted at a potential Syrian role in Lebanon coinciding with the start of the Lebanese army’s deployment in the south under the framework agreement sponsored by Washington.
