Israel Warns Ahmad al-Shara: Damascus Will Be at Risk
An Israeli official has outlined the red lines set by Tel Aviv regarding the situation in Syria.
The official revealed that Israel informed Turkey during a meeting in Azerbaijan that any change in the presence of foreign forces in Syria is considered a red line, according to Israeli Army Radio.
He emphasized that removing any threat in Syria is the responsibility of the new Syrian government, stressing that any action endangering Tel Aviv’s security will also place Ahmad al-Shara’s administration in Damascus at risk.
The official further stated that he clarified to Ankara that the establishment of Turkish military bases in Syria’s Palmyra is also a red line.
Previously, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar expressed concern over what he described as Turkey’s negative role in Syria, Lebanon, and other regions.
