Joseph Aoun Urges the United States to Support Stability in Lebanon

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has called on the United States to take the initiative in helping Lebanon achieve internal security and stability, noting that it is in America’s interest to have a stable Lebanon.

He also emphasized that the Lebanese government is working on implementing economic and administrative reforms and fighting corruption.

Aoun reiterated the need to lift sanctions imposed on Syria, highlighting the positive impact such a decision would have on the Syrian economy. He stressed that Lebanon remains committed to the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland, and that lifting sanctions would help facilitate that process.
