Khamenei’s Adviser Confirms Ongoing Escalation and Surprises Despite U.S. Strikes

Khamenei’s adviser, Ali Shamkhani, confirmed the presence of “ongoing surprises” in response to the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites early Sunday, June 22. Shamkhani tweeted on the “X” platform that “the game is not over even assuming the sites are completely destroyed, because the allocated materials, original knowledge, and political will still exist.”

Shamkhani pointed out that “the political and operational initiative, along with the right to self-defense, is now in the hands of the party that knows how to play smartly and avoid random firing.”

These statements come amid rising regional tensions following U.S. and Israeli strikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military sites, with international warnings about the potential expansion of the confrontation.
