Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry denied reports circulated by the media regarding the evacuation of foreign diplomatic staff from their embassies in Beirut due to regional tensions.

Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry denied reports that a number of foreign embassies had begun evacuating their diplomatic staff from Lebanon as a result of regional tensions, following the issuance of travel restriction advisories by the United States and Germany urging caution.

The US Department of State had issued a Level 4 “Do Not Travel” warning, citing risks of terrorism, crime, kidnapping, landmines near the Syrian border, and armed conflicts, and warning of potential sudden attacks on tourist, commercial, and governmental sites.
