According to American media sources, the White House is expected to undergo security changes affecting U.S. National Security Advisor Michael Waltz and his deputy Alex Wong, by order of President Donald Trump. Reuters reported that Waltz and his deputy would be forced to submit their resignations, along with other officials, with Trump set to announce these changes later.
These shifts come in the wake of the Signal app scandal, which revealed leaks regarding U.S. airstrikes on Houthi forces in Yemen. Additionally, there are disagreements between Trump and Waltz’s security team concerning negotiations with Iran and the Russia-Ukraine war.
Waltz is the first senior official to lose his position during Trump’s second term, just 100 days after Trump assumed office.
