Maria Zakharova: The United States Oversteps Other Nations’ Sovereignty Across Historical Periods… But What Is the Only Exception?

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that the United States continuously violates the sovereignty of other countries across different historical periods.

Zakharova added during a meeting with students of the State Administration University in Moscow that these policies take different forms in each historical stage.

Zakharova cited specific examples, referring to former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and highlighting the U.S. role in the overthrow of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, long before the alleged abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

Zakharova explained that these policies continue because the United States does not face immediate consequences, noting that Washington frequently acts in this context, with exceptions in cases where it anticipates facing deterrence.
