Messi next to Pele and Maradona

Lionel Messi celebrated by placing his statue next to the statues of his compatriot and Pele at the CONMEBOL museum.
A life-size statue of Messi carrying the World Cup was unveiled at a ceremony at CONMEBOL in Paraguay before the Copa Libertadores draw last night.
This was Messi leading Argentina to the World Cup title for the third time in its history and the first after waiting 36 years last December.
Messi said: “I did not dream or think about this, my dream was to enjoy what I loved since I was a child, which is to be a professional player, and do what I love in my life.
He added, “The road was very long, many decisions and defeats, but I was always looking forward to the future and wanted to win.”
He continued, “I think the most important thing is to fight for your dreams, that everything is possible and you have to enjoy playing, which is the most beautiful thing.”
Where the Argentine players and the coaching staff of the national team got miniature models of the World Cup and the Copa America, which is the title that the team won in 2021.
The Argentine Football Association named the national team training headquarters after Messi on Saturday, two days after he scored the 800th goal in his professional career during a 2-0 win over Panama.
Messi scored 99 goals with Argentina and could become the first Argentine to reach 100 international goals if he scores against Curacao in a friendly match today, Tuesday.
