In a landmark moment, Thai contestant Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 during the grand finale of the 72nd edition of the international pageant, held Saturday evening at the HITEX Exhibition Center in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

The 22-year-old student from Thailand surpassed 107 competitors from around the world to secure the global title. Haset Dirirgie Admaso of Ethiopia was named first runner-up, according to a report by CNN.
A New Reign Begins: Crown Handed Over by Miss World 2024
Opal received the crown from Kristina Peshkova, Miss World 2024, during a ceremony marked by global media attention and celebratory atmosphere. The event also highlighted India’s strong legacy in beauty pageants, referencing past Miss World winners such as Aishwarya Rai (1994) and Priyanka Chopra (2000), both of whom later achieved success in the global film industry.

Opal Suchata comes from a distinguished academic and cultural background. She is currently studying Political Science at Thammasat University and is fluent in Thai, English, and Chinese. Her public service work has also drawn attention, particularly her awareness campaign titled “Opal for Her”, which promotes breast health education and encourages early and regular screening among women.
