Jouzzaf Aoun Clarifies the Concepts of Normalization and Peace in Lebanese Foreign Policy

Lebanese President Jouzzaf Aoun affirmed that the issue of normalization with Israel is not on the agenda of current Lebanese foreign policy. He indicated that peace, for Lebanon, means a state of “no war,” which the country seeks to maintain amid regional conditions.

The president’s statements on normalization and peace came during his meeting with a delegation from the Arab International Relations Council. He emphasized that the unity of the Lebanese people and cooperation among various factions with the state are essential to safeguard the country and confront planned threats or conspiracies.

President Aoun also highlighted the role played by Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri in strengthening stability, supporting the state-building process, and upholding the principle of the monopoly of weapons by legitimate institutions.
