Positive Round of Talks Between Tehran and Washington

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that the talks with Washington were more serious compared to previous rounds, pointing out that both the American and Iranian sides now have a better understanding of each other.

He explained that the negotiations are progressing well and that both parties have agreed to continue the talks, noting the possibility of holding the next round of nuclear discussions during the coming week.

Araghchi expected that the United States would refrain from making contradictory statements that would not help the course of the negotiations.

He stressed that Iran’s goal in the negotiations is the lifting of sanctions, a matter on which there is agreement. He affirmed that his country’s uranium enrichment program is non-negotiable or open to compromise, though discussions may be held regarding the percentage and levels of enrichment.
