Return to Jeddah, March 23: US-Russian Talks on Ceasefire in Ukraine After Putin-Trump Call

US President Donald Trump reaffirmed Washington’s efforts to end the Ukrainian conflict, due to the potential risks it carries that could lead to the outbreak of World War III. He noted that Americans are not involved in the ongoing events in Ukraine amid the prevailing danger.
The US President discussed with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over a phone call on Tuesday the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict and bilateral relations between the two countries. The Kremlin announced after the call that President Putin supported a proposal to cease attacks on energy facilities and infrastructure for 30 days, with an agreement to continue working towards a comprehensive settlement.
In related news, US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff announced that talks between the US and Russia on the Ukrainian conflict would take place next Sunday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to outline the details of a full ceasefire, following positive discussions between the two sides, as mentioned.
