Saudi Aramco Explores New Investment Opportunities in China

Saudi Aramco’s President, Amin Nasser, affirmed that the company continues to explore new and additional investment opportunities in China, which represents a major market for Aramco and a key element in its global strategy.
During a speech at the China Development Forum in Beijing, Nasser emphasized that China is one of Aramco’s primary investment destinations. He highlighted the company’s existing investments in the provinces of Fujian, Liaoning, Zhejiang, and Tianjin, while noting that Aramco continues to explore additional opportunities in energy, chemicals, and technology development.
Nasser explained that Aramco supports China’s energy and chemical security by investing in multiple projects in refining, chemicals, and marketing. He pointed out that China is implementing an ambitious development plan focused on quality, which requires energy and industrial raw materials.
Regarding China’s role in the global economy, Nasser noted that China is the world’s largest consumer and producer of petrochemicals, accounting for nearly half of the global demand for chemical materials. He also highlighted that China has become a global hub for the entire petrochemical value chain, which will be crucial for future industries. Additionally, he stressed that China is a key location in Aramco’s global strategy.
“I can assure you that as long-term investors, we at Aramco remain excited about the immense and growing opportunities in China,” Nasser said. “In fact, we want to strengthen our existing relationship and take it to new heights.”
It is worth noting that Aramco is a global Saudi company engaged in oil, natural gas, petrochemicals, and related activities such as exploration, production, refining, distribution, shipping, and marketing. It is the world’s largest company by market value.
