Migrating birds disrupt a Saudi plane: a striking paradox between modern aviation and unpredictable nature

A Saudi Arabian Airlines aircraft encountered an unexpected incident during takeoff from Algeria en route to Jeddah, when it collided with a flock of migrating birds in Algerian airspace. The collision caused scratches to the aircraft’s fuselage, leading to the immediate cancellation of the flight following the incident.

The flight management decided to cancel the trip in accordance with aviation safety protocols, in order to ensure the protection of passengers and the aircraft. The plane then underwent thorough technical inspections conducted by specialized maintenance teams to assess the extent of the damage to its body.

According to standard procedures, technical teams began completing the necessary inspection and repair work before returning the aircraft to service and resuming its scheduled flight to Jeddah, in line with the highest approved aviation safety standards.
