Saudi Statement Highlights the Kingdom’s Right to Take Measures to Protect Security and Sovereignty

The Saudi Council of Ministers held a session chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman via video conference, during which the council affirmed the kingdom’s full right to take the necessary measures to protect its security and sovereignty and to deter any aggression.

The council reviewed the content of recent telephone communications with leaders of brotherly and friendly countries, as part of ongoing consultations on regional developments and their implications for security and stability in the region and globally.

The council condemned the Iranian attacks on the kingdom, the Gulf Cooperation Council states, and a number of Arab and Muslim countries, emphasizing that these attacks represent a threat to security and stability. It also highlighted that Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed missiles and drones that attempted to target national sites and facilities.
