Southern factions: Southern Transitional Council dissolution declaration is invalid, leadership held in Riyadh

Factions affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council call to move talks to Aden or a neutral state
Factions affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council in Yemen issued an urgent statement from the city of Aden, rejecting what they described as the “declaration to dissolve the council,” considering the announcement invalid and unlawful.
The statement, issued by the National Assembly, the Advisory Council, and the General Secretariat, said that council leadership members are held in Riyadh, subjected to coercive detention including confiscation of phones and documents and restrictions on communication, calling for the immediate release of the delegation.
The statement confirmed that the Southern Transitional Council continues to operate with full legitimacy under the mandate issued in May 2017, emphasizing that any major decisions must be made through its official bodies. It also stipulated that any talks should be moved to the city of Aden or a neutral state under international supervision, according to the statement.

In the same context, the statement accused Saudi Arabia of siding with certain political forces and called for demonstrations in Aden and UN intervention to protect what it described as the “will of the Southern people,” warning of potential implications for regional peace. Meanwhile, the official website of the Southern Transitional Council stated that major decisions are only made through the council’s constitutional bodies under the leadership of Aidarus al-Zoubaidi, noting that he left the country secretly last week.
