Suspension of strikes on Iran: US accepts Iran’s 10 points paving way for long-term peace
U.S. President Donald Trump said he agrees to suspend strikes on Iran for two weeks, adding that this period would allow for the completion and finalization of an agreement.
Trump added that agreement has been reached on nearly all previous points of contention between the United States and Iran, noting that most disputed issues have been resolved.
Trump said significant progress has been made toward a final agreement on long-term peace with Iran, adding that the United States has achieved and exceeded all its military objectives.
Trump explained that the United States has received a 10-point Iranian proposal, which it considers a valid basis for negotiation to resolve past differences.
Trump: Based on talks with Pakistan, who asked me to stop sending destructive force to Iran tonight, and conditional on Iran’s agreement to the full, immediate and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend strikes on Iran and attacks against it for two weeks.
