Syrian Delegation Visits Moscow to Revive Bilateral Relations
Syrian Delegation Talks in Moscow to Strengthen Partnership and Bilateral Relations
A Syrian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Assad Al-Shaibani and Defense Minister Major General Marahf Abu Qasra, arrived in Moscow to hold official talks with Russian officials, according to the Media Department of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. Intelligence officials are also participating in the visit.
The visit coincides with discussions on the supply of Russian wheat to Syria. Syrian Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, Maher Khalil Al-Hassan, held a virtual meeting via Zoom with Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Maxim Markovitch, to explore ways to enhance cooperation in wheat imports and contractual arrangements for future shipments.
Both sides agreed to continue coordination and hold further meetings to develop economic partnership and strengthen trade cooperation between the two countries. Russia is the largest global wheat exporter, supplying grains to several countries including Turkey and Egypt, with the 2025 harvest expected to reach record levels.
