Trump Caught Between Two Fronts: Ending the Iran-Israel Conflict and Domestic Protests

U.S. President Donald Trump denied any involvement of the United States in the recent Israeli attack on Iran, affirming that Washington was not a party to the operation. He expressed confidence in his country’s ability to mediate a deal between Iran and Israel, stressing that any Iranian attack on the United States “would be met with a strong response.”

In earlier remarks, Trump emphasized the necessity of ending the conflict between Israel and Iran, noting that he shares this view with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He added that he had extensive discussions with Putin on the Iranian issue, as well as on the Russia-Ukraine war, which he also underscored must be brought to an end.

Meanwhile, Axios reported citing Israeli officials that the Israeli government requested in the past two days that the Trump administration join military operations against Iran aimed at dismantling its nuclear program. According to the site, Trump expressed readiness to provide military support during talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Domestically, several U.S. cities witnessed protests against President Trump’s policies, coinciding with official celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army’s founding in Washington, D.C. Clashes were reported between protesters and police in Los Angeles, along with demonstrations in New York, Philadelphia, and San Antonio.

Among the key events, thousands gathered outside Los Angeles City Hall, while Philadelphia and New York saw large marches featuring chants calling for Trump’s impeachment. In Washington, protesters marched toward the White House, gathering near the president’s residence in Lafayette Square under police supervision.
