Egyptian Moves Include France, Oman, and Iran for Phase Two of the Trump Peace Plan

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati held a series of calls with his counterparts in France, Oman, and Iran, as well as with the U.S. special envoy for the Middle East, according to an official statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussions focused on the immediate transition to the second phase of the Trump peace plan, emphasizing practical steps including the initiation of the Palestinian technocrats committee, deployment of an international stabilization force to monitor the ceasefire, and ensuring Israel’s full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

The participating parties emphasized the importance of creating conditions conducive to early recovery and reconstruction, considering this a key factor for long-term regional stability, according to the Egyptian statement.

The statement added that Cairo stressed during its communications with Tehran and other international parties the necessity of prioritizing diplomatic solutions to reduce escalating tensions, warning of potential consequences if instability continues in the region. It also noted that Egypt’s role received wide international recognition for helping prevent crisis escalation and translating political understandings into tangible field measures to protect civilians and promote lasting peace and stability.
