Turkish Defense Ministry Comments on Events in Jaramana and Sahnaya

The Turkish Ministry of Defense affirmed that demands for autonomy and statements in support of them would undermine Syria’s sovereignty and regional stability.

In a press conference, the ministry stated that the territorial integrity and political unity of Syria are a fundamental priority for Ankara. It emphasized Turkey’s rejection of any attempts to fragment Syrian territory or dismantle its unitary structure under any pretext.

The ministry also clarified that it opposes autonomous regions or any form of decentralizing discourse and activities, just as the new Syrian administration does.
