Hot Air Balloon Accident in Zacatecas – Mexico | One Dead, Two Injured During the “First Balloon Festival” – Video

Authorities in the Mexican state of Zacatecas announced the death of one person and the injury of two others with burns, following a fire that broke out in a hot air balloon, causing it to crash during the “First Balloon Festival” held on Sunday morning in the municipality of Enrique Estrada.

The state attorney general’s office confirmed that investigations are underway into a case involving involuntary manslaughter, causing injuries, and abandoning injured individuals without assistance. Two individuals suspected of organizing the event were identified and reportedly fled the scene. A vehicle believed to have been used by the organizers was later seized.

Rodrigo Reyes, Secretary General of the State Government, stated that authorities responded immediately and called for enhanced safety measures at public events. Footage circulating on social media showed the balloon engulfed in flames mid-air, with one victim appearing to cling to it before falling from a great height.
