Breaking: Israeli Official Warns of Civil War Risk

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Benny Gantz, the leader of the National Unity Party, has joined thousands of protesters opposing judicial legislation.

The newspaper quoted Gantz as saying, “Israel is one step away from civil war.”

Thousands of Israelis demonstrated on Wednesday evening in front of the Knesset building in Jerusalem to protest against government policies and new legislation that could alter the composition of the Judicial Selection Committee.
