Damascus International Airport Management Confirms Its Reopening Soon

Damascus, December 30, 2024 – Anis Flouh, the director of Damascus International Airport, announced that the airport will soon reopen to air traffic following the completion of its rehabilitation.

On December 23, the airport management announced the suspension of all flights until January 1, 2025, except for those with special authorization from the Civil Aviation Authority.

Earlier in the month, Flouh had expected the airport to resume operations on Wednesday, December 18, if the procedures proceeded without any obstacles, according to sources close to the matter.

Flouh also stated that the airport would begin operating domestic or test flights to ensure operational readiness before resuming international flights.

The airport had been evacuated on December 8, and all flights were suspended due to military operations preceding the fall of the Assad regime.
