Successive earthquakes hit Syria

Several successive earthquakes hit Syrian territory in the centre of the country, at different depths.
The National Seismic Observation Network stations at the National Earthquake Centre of the Syrian Ministry of Oil recorded a 4.3-degree earthquake on the Richter scale and a 10-km depth of the Syrian-Lebanese border 30 kilometres north-west of Homs.
Shortly after the first tremor, national seismic network stations returned to record a second 4.2-degree earthquake on the Richter scale and 2 km deep on the Syrian-Lebanese border, 39 km west of Homs.
