Russian Weapons Strengthen Egyptian Army Capabilities: Moscow-Cairo Partnership

Russian weapons drive the focus of military cooperation between Egypt and Russia, with joint training and equipment enhancing Egypt’s defense readiness.

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu announced that Russia and Egypt intend to activate cooperation between their defense ministries, including regular joint exercises and expanding the training of Egyptian military personnel in Russian military academies.

Shoigu noted that the Russian-Egyptian Technical Military Cooperation Committee meets regularly, and that Russian-supplied weapons and technology have become a key component in strengthening Egypt’s defense system.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi also discussed with Shoigu strengthening bilateral relations and developing cooperation in political and economic fields alongside military collaboration.
